LIME REALTY GROUP is back with another series of blogs! This time we wanted to give you some tips on staging a home for sale and keeping the cost down.
It’s true that staging a home increases its value on the open market, but the whole process can be expensive. You have to shell out to hire a stager and rent furniture and art. If professional staging isn’t in your budget, never fear because it’s entirely possible to do some DIY staging that won’t break your bank and here’s some of our suggestions to help you do exactly that!
#1 – Get Some Free Advice. This is as simple as making a phone call to your agent. Your real estate agent most likely has years of experience when it comes to selling and buying homes. They’ve seen the best and the worst staging around. Generally, listening to their suggestions will be extremely beneficial.
We asked our agents some basic advice they give clients and here’s a couple of quick tips they gave us…
Focus on the main rooms like the great room and dining room. That’s where people generally get the sense of how their stuff will fit in the space.
Another tip is only stage a bedroom if the room is oddly shaped or small. Most bedrooms are fairly straightforward on how they’ll go. But if the space is small, staging might help show how to best use the area.
As you can see… Talking to your agent is a valuable source of information you don’t want to pass up. Take some time, schedule a meeting and pick their brains.
